Double-Trouble at Restoration Chiropractic in Columbia, MO

April 29, 2019

When it comes to children, there isn’t anything that a parent wouldn’t do to keep their child happy, safe, and healthy. When a child is sick, the focus is on getting them healthy. When a child is healthy, the focus should be on staying healthy.

Chiropractic care has been reported as the most common complementary and alternative form of intervention for children. Perhaps not so surprising is the fact that the most common reason for chiropractic visits has been wellness visits.

A study into 5 cases of families with children under chiropractic care (as well as the mothers prenatally) to manage vertebral subluxations since birth (interference in the nervous system), found that they were healthier overall when compared to other children their age!

The mothers also reported that during pregnancy, chiropractic care helped alleviate some of the symptoms such as low back pain, extremity numbness, and generalized soreness.

The children in this study were between 9-13 years of age and included three boys and two girls. It was reported that the children had overall good diets, regular exercise, slept well, and did not fall sick from common childhood illnesses the way children around them did!

Sickness can cause a ripple effect that can alter the way a child eats, sleeps, and participates in the world around them. While none of these families may have reported that their child had a specific illness or symptoms, they found that wellness visits through chiropractic care helped to increase their overall quality of life by helping to prevent illnesses and symptoms!
Just because the body seems healthy does not mean that health isn’t at risk of being compromised! Getting healthy is only part of the bigger picture.

Staying healthy and maintaining that health is essential to prevent loss of health and a decrease in overall quality of life!
